Apartment with Beguiling Bird’s Eye View of the River Blackwater
Easily accessible, “The Riverbank” apartment is the perfect holiday location for a couple seeking peace and quiet in the Irish countryside. It sits on a riverside lane that sees almost no traffic – a handful of cars a day (including the postman!). The salmon jump, and its not unusual to see otters frolicking. The country walks include one of your own, a twenty-minute stroll around the property with stunning views over the Blackwater River. Across the river sits a historic castle with its tower folly.
The apartment is comprised of three rooms – a sunny conservatory, a combined kitchen and living area, and a small double bedroom with ensuite shower and toilet facilities.
The most exceptional part of a stay at “The Riverbank'”, though, is your private access to a cozy wooden hut, which we call the “Hooch”, perched high on the bank of the river. The Hooch is comfortably furnished, with book-lined shelves, games, a small fridge and coffee/tea making facilities. Whole days can be whiled away – even rainy ones – watching the ever-changing life of the river through its enormous picture windows. The wrap around balcony is the perfect place for a sun-downer on a warm night.
