The Mews were built in 1770 and are located near Leighlinbridge, Co Carlow. This is a tranquil and rural place yet only 20 minutes from the centre of Kilkenny city and one hour easy access from Dublin and a six-minute drive from the M9. These luxurious self-catering homes are situated on a working stud farm and are ideally located for exploring the South East or as a unique getaway in itself.  Three exceptionally comfortable luxury self-catering cottages are located in a picturesque courtyard in an old country estate. Modern-day luxury is combined with old-world charm to offer the perfect country break.

The Mews boasts three self-catering homes that are bright, spacious and furnished to a high standard. Located in a period stone cut courtyard each home is individually decorated and equipped to a luxurious level to ensure a comfortable stay for visitors.

The Riverview sleeps four and looks eastward over the terraced lawns and specimen trees to the River Barrow. The Riverview is entered through an original stable and the main living area is accessed by a flight of stairs to a very large light-filled loft space. The two bedrooms are at either end. The super king-sized bed with pocket sprung mattress and Egyptian cotton linen boasts the luxury of a free-standing cast iron bath in the en suite bathroom. The second bedroom has two queen-sized doubles and the second bathroom has a power shower. The fully equipped kitchen and granite island allow space to prepare and cook. The dining table comfortably seats six. The two large sofas and many chairs tempt a night in front of the woodstove and maybe reading from the well-stocked bookshelves or watching a DVD, satellite TV or catching up with using complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi.

The Archway and Cobbles homes are both one-bedroomed. Furnished with really comfortable pocket sprung king-sized beds, super pillows, with luxury linen, they have en suite bathrooms with power showers. You may relax in the cosy sitting rooms with spalted beech floors sawn from ancient trees on the estate. The style is best described as elegant country house style in keeping with the period surroundings, with parquet floors, rugs and mahogany furniture in a bright, airy but cosy space. The ground floors have fully equipped kitchens and large dining spaces.

Burgage, a haven of peace and tranquillity is a rural retreat in an idyllic location. Set on its own extensive grounds overlooking the River Barrow, with views to Mount Leinster, you can enjoy seeing mares with foals and sheep on the farm, appreciate the well-maintained gardens, woodlands and stroll along the banks of the River Barrow. Explore the 9th Century Dinn Righ moat – the seat of The High Kings of Leinster on the farm, or for the more energetic play tennis on the hardcourt or use the rowboat. This is a relatively undiscovered and uncrowded part of Ireland. Relish in a peaceful and unhurried fashion the many beautiful and historic heritage sites in the South East of Ireland, including Carlow, Kilkenny, Waterford and Wexford. Experience amazing opportunities to embrace the wonders of nature and open spaces walking the Barrow track, the South Leinster Way and many trails and looped walks. Enjoy the many festivals nearby including art, literary, comedy and music. For the adventure thrill-seekers have a go at kayaking and stand up paddleboarding on the Barrow with local providers. Try your hand at fishing or going for a boat trip on the river. For golfers within an hour’s drive, there are many championship golf courses, including Carlow, Mount Juliet, and the K Club. Gowran Park golf course which is very local is also very highly recommended. Rejoice in the adventure along the hiking trails, visiting the craft trails, golfing, fishing or just relaxing in this remarkably special place, the choice is yours.
Garden benches are dispersed on the extensive lawns. Meanwhile, by the river, picnic tables and chairs allow for private fresh air picnics in a pastoral setting. The large arched centre carriage room in the Courtyard affords the ideal al fresco dining in Irish weather. An outdoor BBQ and fire pit with a long trestle table and chairs inside keeps everyone happy on cooler evenings. The changing seasons can be enjoyed throughout the year at Burgage. Ranging from the brave heralders of Spring - the snowdrops in January - that cover a vast area under the trees along the riverside. The month of March brings masses of yellow daffodils. Late Spring delivers a sea of bluebells and swathes of wild garlic whilst the mature trees show off their verdant new leaf growth. Summertime is for roses and the rose garden is a heavenly scented paradise. Flower filled containers proudly strain to show off their beauty. Autumn “the season of mists and mellow fruitfulness” and the wonderful changing colour of the trees throughout the estate edges us to Winter where the many trees show their architectural branches to striking effect
