Minutes stroll from the beach. Explore fascinating sites such as Dún Aonghasa which seems to cling precariously to the edge of a cliff. The Black Fort, a spectacular cliff edge fort which boasts breathtaking views. The infamous Worm hole and the Seven Churches. A quaint Craft village is 10 minutes walk away. The Island boasts a modern well maintained Playground which is a 15 minute cycle from our cottage. The Playground caters for children of all ages. Coláiste Ó Direain, a summer irish college is minutes away from the cottage. Your adventure starts with a passenger ferry journey from Rossaveal, Co Galway or from Doolin, Co Clare. You can also get there by Plane with Aer Arann from Inverin, Co Galway. This journey takes only 8 minutes. You can rent bicycles and explore the hidden corners, ancient sites and enduring traditions. The Island has one supermarket (SPAR) which is located in Kilronan, 4.5km from the cottage. We recommend that you bring basic essentials with you if you're arriving on the evening ferry as the supermarket will be closed on your arrival. The only ATM on the Island is located within the Supermarket. Lunch/Dinner can be enjoyed at Joe Watty's Bar & Restaurant and The Bar in Kilronan. Coffee shop/Lunch available at Tigh Nain Phaidis at the entrance to Dún Aonghasa. Evening meals can be enjoyed at the Aran Islands Hotel.
