The manor is equipped with an open fire, electric storage heaters, and wifi to keep you cosy and connected during your stay. Each bedroom has flat-screen TVs, hair-dryers, storage units, and ample space to relax and unwind after spending your days exploring the beautiful locations Ireland has to offer. The house also offers 3 lavishly furnished reception rooms, tennis courts, fully equipped games rooms (pool table, etc), kids playroom, beautiful rock gardens, riverside walks, and your very own folly.
The historic house is located in a peaceful setting adjacent to many of the midlands’ famous heritage and tourism attractions incl Clonmacnoise, Durrow abbey, St Manchans Shrine (crafted at Clonmacnoise), and Lough Boora Parklands.
For hiking and walking enthusiasts: We are lucky to be located right in the center of Ireland meaning all parts of the Island can be accessed within a couple of hours. Close by we have ample walking/hiking tracks such as the Slieve Bloom Mountains (Glenbarrow Loop, Kinnitty, Cadamstown, and Rosenalis), Lough Boora Parklands, the “Old Rail Trail” and the Grand Canal all within immediate proximity. In the Village of Ballycumber, we have a historic walk that brings you back to more ancient times. Glendalough, Wicklow, and Connemara are also within 1-2 hours.
For cycle enthusiasts: Nearby cycle tracks include the “Old Rail Trail Greenway”, Lough Boora Parklands, Slieve Blooms as well as the beautiful cycle paths the Grand Canal has to offer. Bicycle hire can be arranged.
For golf enthusiasts: There is a superb network of golf courses within close proximity incl Esker Hills, Glasson, Moate, Mount Temple, and Tullamore with other large championship courses such as the Heritage, Carton House, and the K Club within 1-hour drive. Again golf club hire is available at most of the golf clubs.
The angler: You have access to private fishing on the estate, not to mention the Shannon, Grand Canal, Lough Ree, and Camcor within 10-30 minutes.
